Trolley Happenings -2010

Having a longheld interest in film and theatre it seemed at natural first step to go on a Forkbeard Fantasy Summer School. The course delivered exactly what it promised.During an intense but fun and typically Forkbeard 5 days it demystified the process of making a short film.

Described as being Jan Svankmajer-esque, Trolley Happenings was first shown at Liverpool Biennial 2010.

Close encounters of a Frillip Moolog kind -2009

Olwen Holland documented the exhibition while it was at the London venue. As an artist she has a strong interest in how we interact with space and for this project she captured these beautiful images of the beings (sculptures) as they inhabited the space at Westbourne Grove. She commented on how, in the gallery space, it felt like the beings were "on location" as opposed to being "at home"; as they had for the Chiptop project (see below). She observed how some of the older beings such as Tall Legs and Hyacinth displayed similar personality traits whether at home or on location.

The Beings at Chiptop - 2007

Presenting the beings (sculptures) in a non-gallery space had always been of interest to Kirsty. In November 2007 she had the privilege of using Pauline and Kenneth Tuffrey's unique home “Chiptop” as a perfect setting for a photographic project. Chiptop was designed and built by architect Kenneth Tuffrey in 1963. Pauline trained as an interior designer and artist. Her own work is hung throughout the house.

Olwen Holland is a Midlands based artist who generously agreed to collaborate on this project.
